‘Will & Grace’ Star Sean Hayes Is Heading to ‘The Morning Show

Sean Hayes, who rose to stardom as Jack McFarland on Will & Grace, is heading to The Morning Show for season 5.

The actor, 55, will join Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon in a major recurring role as Wyatt, Brodie's older brother, played by Boyd Holbrook, Deadline reported. Hayes's joining the popular series reunites him with Aniston, who was on Friends during his tenure on Will & Grace, during NBC's Must-See TV Thursday night lineup. It's a sizable commitment for Hayes, who hasn't done a lengthy run on a television show in some time.

Additional names joining The Morning Show for season five include Jeff Daniels, Reneé Rapp, and Jesse Williams.

What Has Sean Hayes Done Since Will & Grace?

While Hayes became a household name and scored an Emmy Award for his role as the flamboyant Jack alongside Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, and Megan Mullally on the beloved series, his resume in the years that followed was just as full. An acclaimed theater actor, he won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play in 2023 for his portrayal of Oscar Levant in the Doug Wright play Good Night, Oscar. A seasoned producer, he also helms the popular comedy podcast SmartLess along with Jason Bateman and Will Arnett.

Hayes is currently making waves for his role in an Off-Broadway solo show, David Cale's play The Unknown, in which he tackles 11 different roles onstage.

Hayes is Also Teaming Up with Larry David

When Curb Your Enthusiasm icon Larry David returns to HBO this summer with his new sketch comedy limited series, Life, Larry, and the Pursuit of Unhappiness: An Almost History of America, Hayes will be there alongside him. Hayes and Jon Hamm will play the Wright brothers in the satirical series, which is produced by Barack and Michelle Obama.

Additional guest stars include Bill Hader and Kathryn Hahn as Abraham Lincoln and Mary Todd Lincoln, and Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld as Lewis and Clark, Variety reported. We'll also see plenty of Curb regulars, including Jeff Garlin, J.B. Smoove, Vince Vaughn, and Susie Essman, who will play Susan B. Anthony.
