ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A man has pleaded guilty to his charges related to the beating death of a 76-year-old man with dementia.
Peter Scott pleaded guilty to manslaughter. On Dec. 27, 2024, Scott repeatedly hit Valeri Brintev in his head and body on a porch on Norton Street. He was arrested in May 2025 by U.S. Marshals.

Rochester Police said Brintev went onto Scott’s porch because he was confused about where he was. Brintev used a walker and lived nearby.
Scott was remanded without bail and is set to be sentenced in May. He could face 15 years in prison.
