MONROE COUNTY, N.Y. — The Monroe County Clerk’s Office sent out a scam alert on Friday, mentioning that scammers have demanded victims to pay fake fines on social media, over text, and through email.
Katelyn Plonczynski Cruz, the communications officer for the county clerk office, said that the court system will not request personal or financial information through text, email, or media either.
She asks for anyone who may’ve gotten a suspicious message that claims to’ve been sent from the court to check with the court clerk in their community.
