Saudi Arabia welcomes UNHRC resolution condemning Iranian attacks
RIYADH — Saudi Arabia welcomed the unanimous adoption of a resolution by the United Nations Human Rights Council condemning the unjustified Iranian attacks on the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states. The UNHRC resolution is dealt with the impact on human rights of the unjustified Iranian attacks on Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan. In a press statement, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the unanimous adoption of the resolution during the council’s 61st session reflects the international community’s unified rejection of the Iranian attacks and its condemnation of such acts as grave violations of human rights. “Saudi Arabia reiterated its condemnation of the Iranian attacks on the Kingdom and countries of the region, which constitute a flagrant violation of state sovereignty and territorial integrity, and a clear breach of international charters and law,” the ministry said in a statement. The ministry also stressed that targeting states not party to the conflict constitutes a blatant act of aggression that cannot be justified or accepted under any circumstances.
