Karachi: The Sindh government has decided to retain all degree programmes of a two-year duration offered by universities and degree-awarding institutions in the province. The Sindh government has made the decision to this effect against the policy of the Islamabad-based Higher Education Commission (HEC) to abolish two-year degree programmes being offered by institutions of higher education in the country to replace them with the four-year graduation degree. Speaking at a press conference, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, who is the Sindh chief minister’s adviser on universities and examination boards, said the Sindh government had decided to retain all the two-year graduation programmes in the province
