Miami on Tuesday added to its 2027 high school recruiting class by landing a top player from its backyard.
Sherrod Gourdine, a Hollywood, Fla., product, has committed to the Hurricanes. Gourdine announced the news via a post to his X account:

Gourdine is already very familiar with another one of Mario Cristobal’s pledges from the 2027 class. Jaylyn Jones, the nation’s No. 27 safety, is his high school teammate, and as you can see below, was thrilled to learn of his “twin”‘s decision.

Johnson and Gourdine join a class that, outside of Jones, includes South Florida product Nick Lennear, the nation’s No. 16 overall player. Miami also has commitments from 4-star Fort Lauderdale edge rusher Demarcus Deroche, 4-star WR Ah’Mari Stevens from Hollywood’s Chaminade-Madonna Prep, and Palm Beach offensive tackle Zaquan Linton. The Hurricanes currently have the No. 14 class in the country, according to 247Sports.
