LIBERTY — A Warren man accused of threatening a woman is set to appear back in court Thursday.
Alvin Robinson, 52, pleaded not guilty to violating a protection order in Girard Municipal Court last week. He also made an appearance on a third-degree domestic violence charge.
According to a police report, officers were called to the Belmont Avenue Denny’s for a woman who was receiving threats from her husband, Robinson.
The woman told officers that she and Robinson had an argument at a Days Inn motel room nearly an hour prior, and during the argument, Robinson pushed her to the ground with both hands. She said Robinson had told her he was going to “beat her ass,” according to the report.
Officers ran Robinson’s information through a mobile data terminal and learned he had an active warrant for aggravated menacing through the Youngstown Police Department and an active protection order out of Mahoning County against the woman.
Dispatchers confirmed the order and warrant, and the woman said she wanted to pursue domestic violence charges against Robinson.
Officers went to the Days Inn motel room and found Robinson, where he was arrested.
The report states Robinson has two prior domestic violence convictions, which bumped his charge to a third-degree felony.
