ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Most folks would agree the steady rain is not the most pleasant weather for a Sunday. However, we do see the wet weather slowly tapering off this evening. This is “drying out” happens after most communities finish the day with a half inch or more of total rainfall. Then the temperature continues to fall overnight, and this will likely change any remaining rain showers to wet snow south of Routes five and twenty before midnight. Any accumulation should be limited to just a coating of snow, but it is recommended that you watch for slippery spots for early Monday morning.
It will be back to the winter coats to start your Monday as the temperature will remain in the mid-30s. Once again, any spring weather will be delayed starting the week as unseasonably cold weather settles in. Expect mainly gray skies with a brisk northerly wind which will make it feel like it is in the 20s for most of the day. In addition, there may be some lake flakes early in the day before skies begin to brighten later in the afternoon.
Tuesday should bring a few more breaks of sunshine, and the temperature will moderate into the lower 40s. Come Wednesday, it should be more reasonable and seasonable with the mercury rising to within a few degrees of 50.
