Where was The Other Bennet Sister filmed?

BBC One is casting attention to the often overlooked sister from Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice - Mary Bennet.

Aptly titled The Other Bennet Sister, the new series follows Mary (Ella Bruccoleri) as she steps out of her sisters' shadows in search of her own identity, and soon finds herself entangled in an epic love story.

Throughout the 10 episodes, her journey will see her leave her family home in Meryton to regency London and the peaks and vales of the Lake District, as she searches for self-love and independence.

But where exactly did filming take place to bring all of these elaborate scenes to life?

Read on for a rundown of the main locations in The Other Bennet Sister.

The Other Bennet Sister was predominantly filmed in Wales.

Ella Bruccoleri told Country and Town House that she "loved" filming in Wales.

"I can't speak highly enough about it; it was like a revelation for me," she added. "I'd only been there once, and I was like, 'Oh my God, this is the most beautiful country in the world!' I was blown away by it.

"Some of our locations had to stand in for the Lake District so we did a lot of filming in the Brecon Beacons and on all these beautiful lakes. It was quite breathtaking. There were days when Dónal [Finn] and I just had to row on a lake all day while they captured shots of us in the sun; it was incredible."
