On March 18, the Bay County Sheriff’s Office in Florida arrested Joseph, 31, and charged him with Lewd and Lascivious Behavior Conducted By A Person 18 Years Or Older, the BCSO wrote in a statement on Facebook.
"On March 18, 2026, Bay County investigators were contacted by a detective with the Tontitown Police Department regarding a report of past sexual abuse," the post read. "The 14-year-old victim participated in a forensic interview, where she disclosed several incidents involving Duggar that occurred during a family vacation in Panama City Beach when she was 9-years-old."
It continued, "According to the investigation, the incidents took place in 2020 while the family was staying at a residence on Danny Drive. The victim reported Duggar repeatedly asked her to sit on his lap. As the vacation continued, he also asked her to sit next to him on a couch and covered them with a blanket. During this time, Duggar manipulated the victim’s underwear and grazed her genitals. Duggar would also continue to rub his hands on her thighs. The victim stated Duggar eventually apologized for his actions and the incidents stopped after the apology."
Kendra Duggar Was Arrested for Child Endangerment & False Imprisonment
On March 20, Kendra, 27, was arrested and charged with four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of second-degree false imprisonment, according to a news release from the Tontitown Police Department in Arkansas. Joseph faces the same additional charges.
“This remains an active and ongoing investigation,” the department noted. “To protect the integrity of the investigation and the privacy of those involved, no further details will be provided at this time.”
A source with knowledge of the case told Us Weekly, “Kendra’s arrest has nothing to do with Joseph’s—although one precipitated another. After his charge, they automatically do a home study if minors live there. They came to her house.”
The source added, “Apparently, they had two rooms where the lock of the doorknob was on the outside instead of inside. They arrested her and took her kids for that, saying it’s evidence that she wrongly detains her kids.”
Jana Duggar Settled a Child Endangerment Charge
In January 2022, Michelle and Jim Bob's eldest daughter, Jana, settled a child endangerment charge from a September 2025 incident. She pleaded guilty and paid $880 after previously pleading not guilty.
On her Instagram Stories, Jana explained the situation. "I'm only sharing this because the media has been having a field day with it all. I prefer a more private life, but I know my last name means that everything we do is open to public criticism and interest, especially during this time," she wrote, seemingly referencing Josh's trial and conviction," she wrote, per People.
Jana continued, "I was babysitting a few months ago when one of the children wandered outside alone. A passerby who saw the child called the police," she wrote. "This resulted in a written citation, as well as a follow-up with child welfare who concluded that it was an accident and the child was unharmed."
She added, "They recognized it was a case of a child slipping out of the house when you turn your back for a moment. It all happened so quickly and was scary. I am grateful for law enforcement and those who protect and serve our community," she went on. "I was certainly never arrested like some may have implied. In the end, I was just upset at myself that it had happened at all but so thankful it all ended safely and that's truly what mattered most to me."
