Alexander Skarsgård knows how to shock us on the red carpet.
The Swedish actor, 49, who scored his breakthrough role on HBO's True Blood, blew fans away with his role on Big Little Lies opposite Nicole Kidman. Since then, roles on series like Succession and Murderbot have earned him praise. The son of actor Stellan Skarsgård, Alexander has risen to become a respected talent in his own right.
While hitting the red carpet premiere for his new film, Pillion, in which he plays a biker who starts a BDSM relationship with the film's lead, played by Harry Potter star Harry Melling, Skarsgård went untraditional in a purple rhinestone-encrusted top that showed off his toned biceps. What Did Nicole Kidman Say About Working With Skarsgård on Big Little Lies?
Nicole Kidman blew our socks off alongside Skarsgård in HBO's Big Little Lies, and the screen legend opened up during a recent interview on the “Las Culturistas” podcast about working with the actor, who played her abusive husband on the series. But it turns out that what caused the most problems for Kidman was the Swedish actor's bad breath.
“I cannot stand bad breath,” Kidman said. “This is a deal-breaker for me. You could be the most gorgeous, gorgeous guy, and if you came at me with bad breath, I’m like, no. If I say, ‘Breath on me,’ and I have to recoil, yikes, I’m out. You could not offer me enough money.”
Kidman eventually had to tell Skarsgård to ditch the falafel before their love scenes.
“When Alexander Skarsgård ate a falafel sandwich before we did the scenes in ‘Big Little Lies,’ I’m like, ‘No, no, no, Alex. I’m meant to be into you and kissing you — put away the falafel now,'” she continued. “I’m sure he did not eat a falafel ever again. I said, ‘No more falafel. Not before you kiss, not before you make love.'”
