GROVELAND, N.Y. — An inmate at Groveland Correctional Facility in Livingston County was convicted of murder and assault Friday.
Gabriel Jasmin killed another inmate at Groveland in October 2024. The victim was Rashawn Belle.
Jasmin also hurt another inmate with weapons the District Attorney’s Office says were similar to ice picks.
Jasmin faces another 25 years to life in prison when he’s sentenced in June. He was already serving time for rape, sodomy and criminal possession of a weapon.
