ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Spring is officially here, and our weather will behave like it this weekend. We dry out from Friday’s rain, but stay cloudy with some fog into Saturday morning. Our first weekend of spring starts off with dry weather on Saturday, and temperatures in the lower 40s. Overall clouds will win out, but some breaks of sun are possible by afternoon. Any sunny breaks won’t last, as our next area of low pressure begins to move in.
Some spotty showers are possible Sunday morning, but will tend to pick up into the afternoon, before tapering later in the evening. Temperatures may start off fairly mild in the morning, especially south of Rochester. This is our best chance of popping into the 50s. Otherwise, 40s will rule, before 30s return late evening and into the overnight. There’s a chance that the air turns cold enough for some wet snow as the rain begins to pull away, but the main precipitation type is expected to be rain on Sunday.
More winter-like temperatures make a return early next week, with highs back into the 30s on Monday and Tuesday, before some slight moderation by the middle of next week. This may be followed by another area of low pressure with rain next Thursday, and then another shot of chillier air to end next week.
