Taylor Frankie Paul's ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen has filed for a restraining order against her and for sole custody of their son.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Mortensen filed for a protective order in Utah on Tuesday, Mar. 17. In his filing, he detailed incidents that he claims occurred on Feb. 23 and 24 of 2026.
Mortensen alleges that while at Paul's home with their son Ever, who turned 2 on Mar. 19, the pair had an argument that escalated. Mortensen says that Paul choked him, and that he had to physically remove her hands from his neck while she shoved him into a window and struck him.
In the filing, he calls the situation "chaotic" and "frightening." Mortensen also claims their son woke up due to the commotion, which he says included Paul yelling and screaming.
Mortensen says he called 911 for help, but alleges Paul "pressured and manipulated" him into telling the dispatcher their son was sick so the call would end.
He then put his son to sleep and laid down with him, until Paul allegedly pulled the blankets off them and exhibited "aggressive behavior." Mortensen then says he left the home with Ever for their safety.

Mortensen and Paul were together again at her home the next night, and Mortensen alleges Taylor threw his phone into the wall and "physically blocked [him] from exiting."
He says he got into his truck, and Paul also got in and started to attack him. When he tried to drive away, Paul allegedly "grabbed and squeezed" his face, threw a drink on him, and hit parts of his car.
"I was unable to safely leave while this was happening, and my child had been left inside the home during the chaos under her watch due to our custody agreement," Mortensen says in the filing.
He notes that he "pushed her away from [him]" in an attempt to protect himself.
Mortensen says he left the home, which led Paul to text him saying she had a bloody nose and needed medical attention. He says he believes the text "was an attempt to get me to return and prevent me from calling the police."
Mortensen says he is "genuinely concerned for my safety and the safety and well-being of my child," and claims he suffered bruises and lacerations due to Paul's actions.
In his petition, Mortensen also brings up Paul's past arrest. In 2023, Paul was arrested for alleged domestic violence following an argument with Mortensen. She was given misdemeanor charges of assault, criminal mischief, and commission of domestic violence in the presence of a child, after she was accused of throwing a chair at Mortensen that hit her daughter.
Paul ultimately pleaded guilty to a single charge of aggravated assault, and the domestic violence charges were dismissed as part of the plea deal. She is currently serving a 3-year probation.
The petition requested temporary custody of Ever and that Paul not drink or use drugs while parenting.
TMZ obtained photos of Mortensen at an Utah courthouse on Mar. 17 alongside Paul's ex-husband Tate Paul. The outlet reports that the two happened to run into each other while they were both there to obtain separate protective orders against Paul.
Paul's season of The Bachelorette was also canceled on Mar. 19 after a video of the 2023 domestic violence incident with Mortensen was released online.
