IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. — A man is hospitalized with severe leg injuries after a car hit him on North Goodman Street near Route 104 East, Irondequoit Police have confirmed.
It happened on Thursday around 4:30 a.m. Police say the driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating. According to Irondequoit’s police chief, the car had a green light, and the man, 35, walked into the crosswalk against the light. The car was entering 104 East from the service road at the time.
The man was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he’s in critical condition but is expected to survive. The chief said he was wearing all dark clothing.
Officers screened the driver at the scene and determined that the driver was not impaired. No charges are expected to be filed.
