“Effective immediately, our Athletic Director, Mike Rapone, has been placed onadministrative leave. The matter in question does not center around Notre Damestudents or the Notre Dame campus.
This decision was made in accordance with our school’s policies and procedures, andwe want to assure you that it was taken after careful consideration. Please keep in mindthat placing an individual on leave is not any indication of the status of an investigationat this point or any ultimate determination.
At this time, we are unable to share additional details due to the confidential nature ofpersonnel matters. Please rest assured that the well-being of our students remains ourabsolute priority, and we are taking all necessary steps to ensure a continued positiveand supportive environment for our athletic programs.
During this period, Julia Rogers will act as Interim Athletic Director with a team of ArtMcGowan, Carolyn Babcock, and Eric Geitner to assist her. This qualified team willoversee all athletic activities and ensure that our teams and student-athletes are fullysupported.”
