Kelly Clarkson is putting a new spin on her iconic 2010 duet with Jason Aldean.
Over 15 years after recording "Don't You Wanna Stay" with the country crooner, Clarkson performed the beloved track solo at one of her recent concerts, turning it into a heartbreaking new stripped-down version.

While performing at Rodeo Houston over the weekend, Clarkson, 43, introduced the song by telling the crowd, "This is the solo, incredibly sad version of 'Don't You Wanna Stay.'"
"Apparently, they didn’t [wanna stay], ‘cause it’s just me!" she further quipped.
The powerhouse singer—who filed for divorce from her former husband, the late Brandon Blackstock, in 2020—then quipped, "Apparently, they didn’t [wanna stay], 'cause it’s just me!"
She then began performing a somber version of the country love song, making some fans think they might like her "sad" take on the song better than the original.

"Her voice is like silk," someone else chimed in, while more fans begged Clarkson to release a studio recording of the track by herself.
But "Don't You Wanna Stay" already reached massive success as a duet.
First released on Aldean's 2010 album My Kinda Party before coming out as a single, the powerful track hit No. 1 on Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs chart in March 2011, where it stayed for three consecutive weeks.
It spent a total of 23 weeks on the Hot Country Songs chart, plus 71 weeks on the Country Digital Sales chart, three of which were spent at No. 1. "Don't You Wanna Stay" was also given the No. 9 spot on Billboard's list of the 25 Best Country Love Song Duets Of All Time in 2022.
