Mizzou beats out Alabama, other top programs for 4-star WR

It’s been a big day for Missouri football on the recruiting trail.

Earlier in the day on Tuesday, the Tigers landed a commitment from 4-star tight end Jack Brown. Now, they’ve earned a pledge from 4-star receiver Chris Harris Jr.

According to Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett, Harris chose the Tigers over the likes of Alabama, Kansas State, Oklahoma State and more. Like Brown, Harris is a Missouri native who has now announced his intentions to stay close to home for college.

“Who doesn’t want to show out for their state?” Harris told Fawcett when committing.

Harris is from the Kansas City area, attending Lee’s Summit West High School. He’s listed at 6-foot, 175 pounds.

Mizzou initially offered Harris a scholarship back in November of 2025. He’s made multiple trips to Columbia during his recruitment and has another visit scheduled for this summer, according to 247Sports.

Harris is a massive pickup for the Tigers. He’s the No. 341 overall player and the No. 18 athlete in the nation for the class of 2027, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 4 player from the state of Missouri.

Mizzou is now up to 5 commits in the 2027 cycle and has the nation’s No. 19-ranked class, per 247Sports Composite rankings. However, there’s still a long way to go before signing classes can be finalized during the Early Signing Period in December.

Here are some highlights from Harris’s high school career:
