Taylor Frankie Paul’s ‘Bachelorette’ Suitors Reportedly Blindsided by Abuse Allegations

The men on Taylor Frankie Paul's season of The Bachelorette are reportedly blindsided by the allegations of domestic violence against her.

“The men on The Bachelorette have all been rallying around each other in solidarity and feel extremely upset and let down by Taylor and the situation,” a source told Us Weekly on Tuesday, Mar. 17.

TMZ also reported that the men on the season felt "blindsided" by the abuse claims. The outlet spoke to multiple contestants who said they were caught off guard by the allegations because their experience with Paul was positive.

The publication notes that the cast described her as "kind, genuine, and well intentioned" and that they saw a "softer, more authentic side of her" during filming.

Though the cast acknowledges the allegations made against Paul are troubling, they said there are "misconceptions" about her and said she came on the show with a pure heart and tried to do the right thing for herself.

On Monday, Mar. 16, it was reported that production for season 5 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wiveshad been halted following an altercation between Paul and her ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen.

“They are not filming,” a source told People of Mormon Wives. “Taylor has some pretty serious stuff happening regarding her past, and they will see what happens. Until that resolves, they are off.”

A spokesperson for the Draper City Police Department also confirmed to the outlet that there is an open “domestic assault investigation” regarding Paul and Mortensen.

The spokesperson confirmed “allegations have been made in both directions” and “contact was made with involved parties on [Feb] 24th and 25th,” but declined to share any further details.

TMZ also spoke to sources connected to both Paul and Mortensen, who offered conflicting stories regarding the alleged domestic violence incident.

Paul was previously arrested for alleged domestic violence in 2023 following an argument with Mortensen. She was given misdemeanor charges of assault, criminal mischief, and commission of domestic violence in the presence of a child, after she was accused of throwing a chair at Mortensen that hit her daughter.

Paul ultimately pleaded guilty to a single charge of aggravated assault, and the domestic violence charges were dismissed as part of the plea deal. She is currently serving a 3-year probation.

Paul’s season of The Bachelorette is still scheduled to premiere on Sunday, Mar. 22 on ABC. TMZ reports that ABC has hired a crisis public relations firm to handle the controversy surrounding her season.

If you or someone you know has been a victim of domestic violence, help is available 24 hours a day through the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233.
