Melanie Mayron was a beloved cast member on Thirtysomething, but we didn't even recognize the curly-haired beauty almost 35 years after the memorable show ended.
Mayron, 73, starred alongside actors Ken Olin, Polly Draper, Peter Horton, Patricia Wettig, Mel Harris, and Timothy Busfield in the ensemble '80s show, which ran from 1987 to 1991 on ABC. She played Melissa Steadman, a photographer, on the series and earned acclaim for her role. But with long, curly reddish hair and glasses, we didn't even recognize Mayron these days. The star, who has also had an extremely successful career as a director, took to Instagram to announce an exciting career pivot: She's creating a skincare line she developed with her dad, a chemist.

Do Thirtysomething Stars Still Stay in Touch?
Several of the original stars of the series are still close friends. Mel Harris, whose social media posts are wildly popular, is still friends with her Thirtysomething costar Patricia Wettig. Of course, Wettig is married to fellow series star Ken Olin. Recently, Harris took to Instagram to wish Wettig a happy birthday in a touching post that features a fun throwback to one of their scenes together on the legendary show.

Last year, Harris took to social media to share some exciting news about a potential Thirtysomething reboot. While she didn’t say anything too specific, Harris said there had been “significant progress towards a sequel to Thirtysomething and the streaming.”
“All the people who are making these decisions, they look at that stuff,” Harris continued, Parade previously reported. “So, let’s keep it up. Let’s get this show on the air.”
However, that news came before the arrest of Timothy Busfield, who was indicted on four counts of criminal sexual contact with a child last month, PBS confirmed. Needless to say, he will likely have nothing to do with a reboot, if it ever manages to materialize.
