Erin Murphy dropped another hint about a new project she has in the works. On March 16, the former child star posted a selfie to Facebook as she teased big news she’ll share with fans soon.
“So many exciting things I can’t wait to tell you about!!!” Murphy, 61, captioned the post. She added the hashtags: #actress#work#newshow.
The teaser comes weeks after Murphy, who played child witch Tabitha Stephens on the ABCsitcomBewitched in 103 episodes from 1966 to 1972, posted to Facebook to tell fans she was “signing contracts” and doing a “wardrobe fitting.”
Murphy’s acting career has been sporadic since Bewitched ended its eight-season run in 1972. She appeared in an episode of Lassie the following year, per IMDb, as well as a Barbie vanity case commercial for Mattel.
She told Closer Weeklyin 2019 that she willingly stepped away from acting as a child. “I was offered jobs right after Bewitched, and I turned them down,” Murphy shared. “I went to Girl Scout camp instead of doing a part on The Waltons. So I kind of walked away from the business.”

Murphy has few acting credits as an adult and instead has focused on her family and work as an entrepreneur and philanthropist.
There has been buzz that the original Bewitched star could appear in an upcoming remake of the series. A "reimagining” of the beloved classic TV sitcom in development with Sony Pictures Television and Fox Entertainment was announced in November, according to Deadline.
Murphy has not ruled out some sort of appearance in the upcoming Bewitched series, although she clarified she wasn’t eyeing a starring role.
“If they asked me to appear on the show, absolutely I would! I’d love to be included in some way, and I know fans of the original Bewitched would enjoy that fun reference to the past,” she told New Idea in February.
“Definitely shouldn’t be in quotes that ‘I’ll star in the reboot!’” she later posted of a teaser for the interview.
Still, fans are hopeful they'll see Murphy back as Tabitha.
In response to Murphy’s “new show” post, one fan wrote on Facebook, “Looking forward to hearing about it! My wish is for you to return as Tabitha in a Bewitched spin-off series. We need more fantasy/magic series.”
“You're starring in the next generation Bewitched.... I hope I hope I hope,” another fan wrote.
