Sinnersmade history this year after earning the most Academy Award nominations than any other film. The movie was nominated for 16 awards at this year's Oscars, including four of the Big Five awards. They ended up going home with four nods: Best Actor (Jordan), Best Original Screenplay (Coogler), Best Cinematography (Autumn Durald Arkapaw) and Best Original Score (Ludwig Göransson). In addition, Caton and composer Raphael Saadiq performed their Oscar-nominated song, "I Lied to You," at the ceremony, and were joined by other performers such as Shaboozey, Buddy Guy, Alice Smith, ballerina Misty Copeland, Li Jun Li and more.

Outside of the Vanity Fair Oscar Party that also took place on Sunday night, right after the show, Maurice Kamara, the founder of The People Gallery on social media, stopped the 39-year-old actor to ask some questions while he was holding his new Oscar.
After an inspiring speech Jordan gave, telling his fans to "dream big," Kamara asked the Black Panther actor what his favorite movie was. After some thinking, Jordan revealed that his favorite film was Princess Mononoke, the popular 1997 anime produced by Studio Ghibli.
