Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie‘s mom, Nancy Guthrie, is still missing more than six weeks after the abduction from her Tucson, Ariz., home—and a security gate on the front door could offer a new clue.
On Monday, March 16, NewsNation correspondent Brian Entin spoke with one of Nancy's neighbors, Laura, for his YouTube series Brian Entin Investigates.

In addition to telling the reporter that investigators are targeting a new date in video evidence from neighbors, Laura pointed out a key detail involving the 84-year-old's Catalina Foothills residence.
"Nancy Guthrie had a security gate on her front door," Entin said at the beginning of the episode. "[Laura] said, 'When those are locked, they're really, really difficult to get through.' So she does not believe that the suspect who we saw on video was trying to get into Nancy's house through the front door."
Instead, Laura said she believes an accomplice gained entry to Nancy's home in a different way, explaining that she "always assumed it was two people" who abducted Nancy instead of a solo perpetrator. She also brought up the masked man at the front door in security camera footage released by the FBI.
"He was standing there, and I don't think he was the main person," Laura speculated. "I think he was the guy outside who was waiting for them to come out."

Laura continued, "If you have a gate like that, a security gate on the front door, you're not getting into that. You're never going to break into that security gate... So I think he was standing there waiting for someone to come out."
In related news, a forensics expert recently speculated about a second crime scene and how that could help solve the mystery of Nancy's disappearance. Entin also revealed two things he thinks could ultimately "crack" the case.
Nancy was last seen at her Tucson home on the evening of Jan. 31, with the Pima County Sheriff's Department launching its search on Feb. 1. As of writing, no suspect has been named in the 84-year-old's case despite Savannah's $1 million reward offer.
