MARION, N.Y. — State Police say a delivery driver is facing charges after assaulting a 67-year-old man on the side of the road in the Town of Marion.
Joseph Blair III, 32, is charged with assault in the second degree.
State Police say on Feb. 7, the 67-year-old man and his wife were heading south on State Route 21 in Marion when they saw Blair in his delivery van stopped in the road facing north.
The man pulled alongside the van to tell Blair his van could cause an accident if left in the roadway, according to State Police. They say Blair then hit the man’s car window with his hand, and when the man got out of his car, Blair pushed him to the ground and hit him multiple times.
Blair left the scene after in the delivery van, and State Police say the man’s wife got video of it. The man denied medical attention, but State Police say he later got treatment and was diagnosed with a fractured ankle due to the fight.
Blair was found at his home in Rochester on March 7 and arrested by State Police. He was brought to the Wayne County Jail for arraignment.
