PITTSFORD, N.Y. — The sixth annual Dane LeClair Memorial Volleyball Tournament took place today, honoring the memory of a standout volleyball player from Pittsford who died in 2019.
Dane LeClair played volleyball at McQuaid Jesuit High School and Loyola University Chicago. His mother, Rebecca LeClair, said Dane would have loved to participate in the tournament.
“He always loved volleyball so much and we wanted that to continue the spirit of volleyball, to continue, and we put together this tournament in his memory so that everybody can feel that spirit of Dane. Keep going, set a goal for yourself and compete,” said Rebecca LeClair, Dane’s mother.
Rebecca was an anchor at News10NBC for more than 20 years. She said Dane had started a coaching career in Nebraska before he passed away.
