Taylor Hanson was born on March 14, 1983, in Jenks, Oklahoma, a suburb of Tulsa. He is the second child of seven born to Clarke Walker Hanson and Diana Frances. Though Hanson is Taylor's main band, he and, along with former Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha, Cheap Trick drummer Bun E. Carlos and Fountains of Wayne bassist Adam Schlesinger, formed a new band called Tinted Windows.
On Instagram, Hanson dedicated a birthday post to their keyboardist, writing "Happy Birthday to brother T. He’s ringing in year 43 without skipping a beat," and posted a video interview of Taylor back in 2012.

Since their formation more than 30 years ago, the indie rock group has released 11 studio albums, with their most recent being Red Green Blue in 2022.
