Olivia Munn, who currently plays Samantha Levitt in AppleTV's Your Friends & Neighbors. She realized she was at high risk for breast cancer from a mammogram in 2023.
"She said to me having gone through this … she said just be so aggressive," Munn, 45 said at Los Angeles Magazine’s The L.A. Woman Luncheon on March 13, according to Page Six. The X-Men Apocalypse star had five surgeries, including a double mastectomy. That ended in April 2025.
"I don’t look at cancer like, ‘I can’t believe I went through this, it’s really unfair.’ There’s no place in my mind and my energy to think about how things are unfair," the actor said. "I just think thank God I’m one of the lucky ones."
Jennie Garth was in attendance at the event. Garth, 53, revealed to Entertainment Weekly that her last conversation was with her late 90210 co-star. They were at ‘90s Con for a panel with their 90210 cast members. Doherty offered them a private flight back to Los Angeles.
"I didn’t even have to go back to L.A. I had to go to the opposite direction to New York," Garth said. "But [Doherty] came to me right before they left and she was like, ‘We’re going on this plane. You’re welcome to come with us, Jennie.’ And I can see her saying it, and that just keeps playing over and over in my mind."
Munn thanked the icon for her health advice again. She previously remembered the Charmed actor after the announcement of her death on Instagram and talked about their bond.
