ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Hundreds of customers in Monroe County are without power Saturday morning as windy and cold conditions moved through the region.
According to RG&E, 693 customers in Rochester are currently without electricity, including more than 100 customers along Chili Avenue. The utility says power would be restored by 9:15 a.m.
In Ontario County, the company reported 46 customers without power.
Meanwhile, National Grid reported 38 customers affected in Monroe County, with an estimated restoration time of 9:30 a.m.
Officials in Livingston County also reported a road closure tied to the weather. The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office said Federal Road in the town of York is closed between Cowan Road and Linwood Road because of downed tree and power lines. Utility crews are working on repairs. Expect the road to remain closed for a couple of hours.
The outages come as strong winds and cold temperatures move through the region. Saturday started off windy and cold, with some lake-effect snow lingering in parts of western New York. Temperatures are expected to stay in the lower 30s during local St. Patrick’s Day festivities, with gusty winds making conditions feel even colder.
