Italy’s Defense Ministry confirmed a missilestruck an Italian base in Erbil, in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, but noItalian personnel were killed or injured.
In a statement, the ministry noted that he isreceiving continuous updates from the Chief of Defense Staff and the commanderof Italy’s Joint Operations Command (COVI).

About 300 Italian troops are stationed in Erbil,participating in training the Kurdish security forces as part of the Global Coalitionmission supporting Iraqi forces.
