Registration is now open for Tennessee Tech University’s 2026 Student Orientation, Advisement and Registration (SOAR) sessions, and university officials are urging incoming freshman students to reserve their dates soon to secure their preferred summer experience. SOAR is a welcoming, two-day orientation program designed to help first-time freshmen transition to campus life and finalize their enrollment. Students and their families also learn more about academic resources, student involvement opportunities and the supportive community that awaits them at Tech. The 2026 SOAR schedule includes 10 session dates, beginning May 27–28 and continuing through July 27–28. Some June sessions offer on-campus overnight lodging options to make travel easier for families. “Each summer I’m reminded how meaningful SOAR is in shaping our new students’ first campus experience,” said Courtney Brehm, director of New Student & Family Programs. “It’s a privilege to watch our campus community rally around these students — welcoming them, answering questions and helping them find their footing as Golden Eagles.” Student Orientation Assistants (SOAs), a team of current students dedicated to extending Tech hospitality to new and prospective students, will be on hand throughout each session to guide incoming students and their parents through the two-day experience. “Our SOAs bring so much energy and insight to every SOAR,” Brehm added. “They’ve walked the same paths our incoming students are beginning, and they’re invested in helping each new Golden Eagle feel confident and excited about what’s ahead.” Tech is ranked as the No. 1 public university in Tennessee by Money.com and a “Best National University” by U.S. News & World Report.
