The two countries have met only once before in WBC play, in the 2013 tournament. Team USA won that matchup 6-2 in Arizona, highlighted by a tiebreaking grand slam from David Wright. Tonight’s meeting carries even higher stakes, with a quarterfinal berth on the line.
