"I think she also had hearing issues and pretty powerful hearing aids that she probably removed at night," he pointed out. "Which makes her even more vulnerable."

O'Connell also speculated, "I think also, the altercation, quote unquote, could have happened if she obviously had her hearing aids out, and they [the suspects] were giving her commands, and she could respond. Because she didn't know what they were saying."
She added, "It's so sad."

It stopped syncing with her Apple Watch—which was left behind at her home—at roughly 2 a.m. on Feb. 1. This suggested the approximate time she was forcefully taken from her residence.

Meanwhile, Savannah, her husband, and their son were spotted during a rare public appearance days after the journalist visited the Today studio for the first time since Nancy went missing.
