Jennifer Runyon’s Life and Legacy Celebrated by Longtime Charles in Charge Friend

A former colleague of beloved entertainer Jennifer Runyon shared a sweet tribute to her on social media after news of her death went public. Willie Aames, who starred with Runyon on the iconic show Charles in Charge, posted about her on Facebook on March 8.

"Well... it seems the horrible news is out... thank you for all your messages," Aames' post caption began.

Aames included several photos in his post he felt "perfectly sums up our relationship."

The Charles in Charge alum explained, "Jenn was more than a friend. She was my dear dear friend, muse, and encourager. We shared family Christmas's together, vacations, weekends, lunches and dinners together."

He added that they did shows together, as well. "But most of all- we LAUGHED. That was Jenn- even up until her last weeks," Aames revealed.

Aames then shared touching thoughts directed toward Runyon herself. "Jenn: you were my rock. Watching you slip away these last few months was one of the hardest times of my life... I can still hear your voice so clearly," Aames wrote.

He noted that nobody would ever be able to fill "the massive hole that's been left in our hearts... ever." Aames expressed that her marriage was an inspiration to both him and his wife, Winnie Hung.

The actor also noted that it hurts terribly that the world has now lost "a truly beautiful soul." He added that their love goes to Runyon's husband, Todd Corman, and their children.

Aames and Runyon had remained so close all these years later that they even had "daily coffee chats," he wrote.

"One thing I am certain of - we will never forget the joy and kindness you brought into our lives. To say you were generous is a gross understatement," Aames declared.

Several of the photos that Aames included in his Facebook post appeared to have been taken in recent years. One, however, was a still shot from the two during their Charles in Charge days.

Runyon appeared as a love interest for Scott Baio's character of Charles named Gwendolyn Pierce. Aames played Charles' friend, Buddy Lembeck.

When the Charles in Charge cast reunited in 2019, Runyon was pulled back into the group. Though she only appeared in a handful of episodes of the show, the tight bond she formed with Aames lasted decades.
