Tour attendees will be able to see working examples of energy-efficient heat pumps for space heating and cooling, heat pump water heaters, induction cooktops, rooftop solar systems, home battery storage and electric vehicles. Several homes will also showcase rainwater catchment systems and composting systems.
In addition to viewing the equipment, participants will have the chance to speak directly with homeowners about their experiences with appliance selection, contractor hiring, installation timelines and the financial aspects of electrification, including tax credits, rebates and incentive programs.
Organizers say the tour is intended to provide transparent, firsthand accounts of both the challenges and long-term benefits of moving to electric living.
“Our goal is to take the mystery out of electrification,” said Steve LeFevre of Cupertino Rotary. “When neighbors can walk through a home, see the equipment in action and talk candidly with the homeowner, it makes the transition to clean energy feel practical and achievable.”
