ROCHESTER, N.Y. – After yesterday’s record breaking warmth, a cold front will moderate our temperatures today. Highs will range from the upper 40s along the lakeshore to the mid 50s in the Finger Lakes. It’ll be a cloudy start, but plenty of sun for the afternoon and evening (sunset at 7:08 now!). There will also be a decent breeze out of the west, with gusts peaking at 35 MPH this afternoon.
Warmer than average temperatures continue for a few more days before a big dip in our temperatures later this week. Tomorrow will be excellent, with sunny skies and highs in the mid 60s. It will still be breezy, again with gusts up to 35 MPH. Tuesday hits the 60 degree mark once again with partly cloudy skies, then scattered showers will arrive for the late afternoon/evening.
Showers may include a rumble of thunder Wednesday morning. Rain continues and winds return as low pressure passes by, and temperatures will fall as the day goes on. Thursday morning, it’ll be cold enough for some wet snow to be falling for the morning commute. We’re tracking this closely, so check back for updates.
Temperatures only get lower from Thursday on. The St. Patrick’s Day Parade will certainly be chilly this year… Over the next 8-14 days, the national weather pattern will return to how it was for much of January and February… Cold in the east, warm in the west.
