PENN YAN, N.Y. — An 18-year-old man has been arrested after being accused of raping and forcibly touching three girls.
Penn Yan Police say Bryan Mayhew inappropriately touched a 14-year-old girl while at school during the 2024-25 school year. They also say he had sexual contact with another 14-year-old girl and a 16-year-old girl.
The incident at the school wasn’t first reported to staff, police say, but came out during interviews with the other victims. Police say they have since notified the district, and although Mayhew is no longer a student, he is banned from all district grounds.
Mayhew was arrested and is charged with two counts of rape, forcible touching, and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He was arraigned at the Yates County Jail and released. Orders of protection have been issued for all known victims.
