Keiser University’s Isaiah Aleksenko, already with a 200 IM title and record under his belt at this week’s NAIA Championships, wasted no time adding another, breaking his own NAIA Record in the heats of the men’s 100 butterfly on Friday morning.
He posted a 45.49, taking .44 seconds off his own mark from the Zippy Invite in December and sitting more than 2.2 seconds ahead of the field going into finals.
Comparing the two swims, he improved on both 50s, opening in 21.24 and closing in 24.25 this morning versus the 21.41/24.52 splits from his former record.

Earlier in the meet, he won the 200 IM (1:44.48), becoming the first man under 1:46 in division history and elevating himself to the top of the NAIA all-time list. He has also been a stalwart on the Seahawks’ relays, contributing to gold in the 200 free relay (19.45 split) and 200 medley relay (20.25 fly split), as well as bronze in the 800 free relay (1:35.63 split).
The 2025 NAIA Swimmer of the Year, Aleksenko has not skipped a beat since last year’s meet, where he swept his individual events by winning the 100 back (46.12), 100 fly (46.01), and 200 fly (1:42.87), all NAIA records at the time, while also helping Keiser sweep the medley relays and win the 800 free relay. He has since lowered his 100 back record to 45.65 at the Zippy Invite.
He traded the 100 back for the 200 IM this year and still has the 200 fly tomorrow. He enters as the top seed with a season-best 1:44.00, more than three and a half seconds clear of the field.
Aleksenko hails from the Northern Mariana Islands, which he has represented internationally at the Pacific Games. The Northern Mariana Islands are a territory of the United States and do not have their own Olympic Team.
The Keiser Seahawks are the four-time defending NAIA champions. They currently hold a 123-point lead over the Savannah College of Art and Design and appear well on their way to a fifth straight team title.
