GENEVA, N.Y. — The Geneva City School District announced it is taking action following the arrests of multiple employees. Superintendent Bo Wright said in a message the district will conduct an external review of its hiring and supervisory practices.
The review will examine how the district screens and onboards new hires, as well as how it monitors current employees.
“We have robust processes in place, but continuous improvement is one of our district values,” Wright said. “When something challenges public confidence, we examine our systems carefully and make improvements where they’re needed.”
This decision comes after several incidents involving district employees. An ex-Geneva Middle School teacher was recently arrested for allegedly giving a child psychedelic mushrooms.

In December, an assistant principal was accused of inappropriate and unwanted physical contact” with a student.
