SUNNYVALE — A 40-foot-tall tree toppled onto Highway 101 in Sunnyvale and hit a pair of Teslas early Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

The tree blocked three lanes of the freeway, which did not reopen until about 2:20 p.m.
