ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A 19-year-old recently charged with harassment and weapon charges is now charged with attempted murder.
Kemaurie Welch is accused of shooting a 30-year-old man on Rugby Avenue in November. Rochester Police say the victim was walking in the area when Welch pulled up in a car, got out of the car, shot him, and then left the area in the car.
The victim was brought to Strong Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

RPD’s Tactical Unit found Welch at a home on Lux Street Wednesday and took him into custody. Along with attempted murder, Welch is also charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon in connection to the shooting.
Welch was also recently charged with criminal possession of a firearm and harassment. Police say on Feb. 19, him and two other teens robbed and raped a woman on Lux Street.

Welch was brought to the Monroe County Jail and assigned $250,000 cash bail.
