Stidham hadn’t played a meaningful regular-season snap in two years leading up to the Broncos’ matchup against the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game, where Denver ultimately fell short of a Super Bowl appearance.
For teams in need of a veteran quarterback, Stidham would be a solid option, even potentially in Arizona with the Cardinals.
It all boils down to what Sean Payton thinks and feels, though. Payton has been on record emphasizing the importance of having a high-quality backup on the roster in the event of an injury to the starter, and he likes Stidham.
