The Cache la Poudre River National Heritage Area will host the 11th annual Poudre River Forum on Friday in Greeley, recognizing those who have shaped, and continue to shape, the basin.
The event will run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Aims Community College Welcome Center, 4901 W. 20th St., Greeley, according to a news release. Tickets are $60 and are available at PoudreHeritage.org/Poudre-River-Forum.
“Trailblazers think outside the norm and demonstrate a commitment to a cause greater than themselves,” Cache la Powder River National Heritage Area Executive Director Sabrina Stoker said in the release. “They see obstacles as a challenge to be solved and possess the courage to persevere.”
The conference offers a space for brainstorming and discussion of ways to support a healthy, working river. There will be dynamic panels, time for networking with water professionals and opportunities to explore current Poudre River Basin initiatives.
General Manager of Northern Water Brad Wind and Executive Director of Save the Poudre Gary Wockner will speak on “collaboration, compromise and what it means to move forward together.”
Dale Trowbridge won the 2026 Poudre Pioneer Award, which recognizes someone who has made significant contributions toward making the Cache la Poudre River an example of a healthy, working river.
“If we stop talking, then differing viewpoints are not being understood,” Trowbridge said in the release. “Resolution cannot happen. We must stay at the table. We must continue the conversation.”
