Virginia honored a retiring K-9 at its Tuesday basketball game. Unfortunately, not everything went as planned.
As documented by Mike Barber, the dog went to the bathroom while on the John Paul Jones Arena court.

Yeah, that looks like a flagrant 2
— Daniel Wilson (@DJWilson1993) March 4, 2026Aside from that incident, it was a good night for UVA. The Cavaliers defeated Wake Forest 75-70.
Though only a 5-point margin on victory, Virginia was in control much of the night. The Demon Deacons never led, and UVA led for more than 37 minutes with under 3 minutes of the game being tied.
The Hoos notably won the battle of the boards, outrebounding Wake Forest 43-33. Virginia defenders registered an impressive 9 blocks on the night.
Offensively, Virginia had 5 scorers in double figures, led by Thijs De Ridder with 16 points, while Jacari White added 14 points. Wake Forest’s Mekhi Mason was the game’s high scorer with 26 points.
On a night a dog poops on its home court, Virginia fittingly locked up the No. 2 seed in the ACC Tournament. UVA ends the regular season on Sunday against Virginia Tech.
