ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A Rochester man previously convicted for stealing mail and having a U.S Postal Service key is facing a new charge.
Legend Davis, 22, is charged with being a felon in possession of ammunition. On Dec. 16, 2025, prosecutors say a caller stated Davis threatened them while driving by their house with a group of people, calling for the victim to come outside.
On Dec. 16, 2025, and Jan. 21, United States Probation officers did home visits at Davis’ home. Officers asked Davis if there was anything in the home that he wasn’t supposed to have.
Prosecutors say Davis admitted to having ammunition, and that officers found nine rounds of ammunition in Davis’ home.
In October 2023, Davis was caught robbing the Jefferson Road post office in Henrietta along with two other people. Prosecutors say the three also hit up mailboxes in Greece and Brighton.

In September 2024, Davis was convicted of possession of a postal key and theft of mail. He was sentenced to serve three years probation. As a result, he is legally prohibited from having ammunition.
If convicted of this new charge, Davis faces a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
