The juicy disclosure was made in a recent podcast appearance on Kylie's part. On February 24, Kylie shared her thoughts on the podcast Green Light with Chris Long. That podcast episode was hosted by NFL alum Beau Allen, who played with Jason Kelce for the Philadelphia Eagles for some time. Kylie and Allen clearly know one another quite well, which made for a lot of fun banter between them.
During the podcast, Kylie admitted that there was something about her mother-in-law's recent experience competing on The Traitors that really bothered her.
"I'm annoyed that she was a 'Secret Traitor,' for some reason," Kelce admitted.
During Season 4 of The Traitors, which recently streamed on Peacock, Donna Kelce was given a special, first-ever role. She was declared a "Secret Traitor" as the action got going in the first episode.
Being a Secret Traitor meant that Donna had her own stealth cloak and was told to "try to stay in the shadows." She was not given the identities of the regular Traitors, and they were not given hers. The viewers didn't even get the scoop on the identity of the Secret Traitor until her murder.
The other Traitors did know there was a Secret Traitor in their midst. She was tasked with creating a "short list" for murder, and the other Traitors needed to make their pick from the short list.
Unfortunately, Donna's role seemed to hinder her ability to play the game she way she intended. She was eliminated in the third episode of the competition.
During the podcast, Kylie emphasized, "So, for some reason, her being a secret traitor has irked me to a degree I can't explain."
She shared, "I wanted her to have her best chance to team up with people to, like, really get a little sneaky with things. If she were a Traitor, but not the Secret Traitor, I think she would have nailed it."
Kylie suggested that her mother-in-law would have done great if she'd been able to play a more traditional game. "She's just too sweet," and Allen suggested, "no one would have suspected her." Kylie concurred by adding, "Nothing," meaning the other contestants would have suspected nothing was amiss with Donna.
"She needed teammates," Kylie added. They both agreed that as a result, everybody was robbed of some great television and fantastic "Donna time."
Fans of The Traitors seemed to agree.
On an Instagram post shared on the podcast's page, one fan commented, "I completely agree with @kykelce. She would've made a great Faithful or later picked Traitor. I hope she gets another chance on a future season."
Someone else suggested, "She could be the new Dorinda and come back next season." That was a reference to Real Housewives of New York City alum Dorinda Medley.
Medley was a cast member for Season 3 of The Traitors. She was the first person murdered in her season, and she returned aiming for redemption in Season 4. It seems some fans think Donna deserves that same opportunity, and it sounds as if Kylie would be thrilled to see it happen.
