A 17-year-old Sunland resident was arrested for allegedly scrawling swastikas on a Jewish house of worship in Burbank, authorities said Friday.
Burbank police officers were notified on Feb. 16 that two large swastikas had been painted on an exterior wall of Temple Emanu El, on the 1300 block of North Glenoaks Boulevard, according to Burbank Police Department Lt. Brent Fekety.
“Officers canvassed the area for witnesses and surveillance footage, and detectives began an extensive follow-up investigation,” Fekety said.
The investigation led police to the teen, who was also connected to the posting of neo-Nazi recruitment materials at Los Angeles Mission College, according to the lieutenant.
A search warrant was served at the teen’s home on Thursday, Fekety said.

The juvenile was arrested on suspicion of felony vandalism, hate-motivated graffiti and defacing a place of worship with a symbol intended to terrorize.
The case will be presented to the Juvenile Division of the Los Angeles County District Attorneys Office for charging consideration.
