All British diplomatic staff have been withdrawn from Iran amid signs that Donald Trump could imminently carry out military action against the Tehran regime.
The Foreign Office said officials were being “temporarily withdrawn” from the country “due to the security situation”.
The UK embassy will continue to operate remotely, the Foreign Office said.
It follows an announcement by the US State department earlier on Friday that all non-essential diplomatic staff were being pulled out of Israel – further fuelling expectations that a US strike could be imminent.

Fresh technical talks are due to take place next week in Vienna, but there have been reports that the US side was disappointed with the latest progress.
