Former Florida Gators quarterback Anthony Richardson has been granted permission to seek a trade by the Indianapolis Colts, according to a report from ESPN’s Stephen Holder.
The former No. 4 overall draft pick was beaten out by Daniel Jones last preseason and attempted just two passes in 2025. In his lone season of legitimate action, 2024, Richardson struggled mightily, completing under 50% of his passes for 1,814 yards, 8 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He’s made a total of 15 starts across his 3 seasons with Indianapolis and has 11 passing touchdowns to 13 career interceptions.
While the former Gator has an absolute cannon for an arm, his accuracy and general feel for the professional game simply has not translated thus far. Many point to Indianapolis’ poor development for Richardson’s struggles, but his injury issues have played an obvious role as well.
Either way, a change in scenery may be just what the doctor ordered for AR.
