Alabama baseball heads to Frisco Classic

Alabama baseball will play its first game of three in the 2026 Frisco College Baseball Classic Tournament on Friday. The Frisco Classic, often referred to as the “highlight of the pre-conference schedule,” will prove to be a good early-season test for the Crimson Tide.

The Frisco Classic consists of three games between four teams. The Crimson Tide will face the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Oregon State Beavers and the Houston Cougars. The Hawkeyes and Cougars, who are both 6-2 on the year, will be competitive matchups throughout the week. The Oregon State Beavers, while only 4-3, can still put up a good showing against the Crimson Tide, as they are coming off a 48-16-1 season in 2025.

The Crimson Tide, currently 7-2 on the year, dropped one of its losses to an unranked Washington State. The Crimson Tide also lost to No. 12 Southern Miss 14-4 in an eight-inning game on Tuesday, their final one before the tournament. However, catcher Brady Neal, is off to a hot start for the Crimson Tide, hitting .348 with a .393 on-base percentage and will look to continue his dominance.

The Frisco Classic will not only be a good measure for the Crimson Tide’s season, but it will also show the team’s readiness as it approaches SEC play. Alabama’s first game will be on Friday against the Iowa Hawkeyes at 6 p.m. CT.
