Sofia Franklyn Seemingly Cuts Alex Cooper Out of Daddy Issues Book Cover

It seems Sofia Franklyn is reigniting the “Call Her Daddy” podcast drama with her debut memoir.

Franklin, 32, announced on Wednesday, February 25, that she is gearing up for the release of her Daddy Issues book later this year. The podcast host also revealed the book’s cover, which featured a photo of her and a blonde woman, whose face was removed from the snap. Fans were quick to speculate that Franklyn’s former “Call Her Daddy” cohost Alex Cooper was the person cut out of the image.

“My story has only been told for me. And if you asked me to write this book five years ago you would have gotten a different story — fearful, vengeful, insecure, wounded with something to prove,” Franklyn shared in a statement on Wednesday. “I couldn’t live truthfully until I told it in my own words, on my own terms, and in the most radically honest way I know how.”

The book — published through Simon & Schuster — is set to tell Franklyn’s story of “girlhood, friendship, sexuality, agency and healing,” according to the description.

“Long before the internet was watching, Sofia Franklyn learned to disappear. Dysfunction was normal and escape was instinct,” the book summary reads. “New York City offered reinvention, and there she met Alex Cooper. They moved quickly: roommates, best friends, business partners.”

“Call Her Daddy” became an overnight success after the show’s 2018 launch, but as each episode reached No. 1 on the podcast charts, the fast friendship between Cooper and Franklyn imploded.

“In hindsight, the warning signs were everywhere. Secrets, omissions, things left unsaid,” the book summary continues. “Millions watched as Sofia went from one half of a beloved duo to the villain in the internet’s messiest breakup. She found herself at rock bottom again, not by the familiar hands of men, but by the unexpected betrayal of another woman. What followed was a private collapse that forced a reckoning, leading Sofia to interrogate her ambition and the cost of being understood as a headline.”

The podcast’s listeners weren’t the only ones clued into the Franklyn and Cooper drama — in fact, it took the internet by storm.

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy reached out to Franklyn and Cooper with a three-year deal in 2018 after “Call Her Daddy” started to blow up. Two years into their contract, Portnoy heard rumors that the show was being shopped around.

Cooper has claimed Portnoy offered the women a $500,000 deal that included ownership of the show. In the Call Her Alex docuseries, released in June 2025, Cooper further alleged that Franklyn didn’t want to take the deal. Cooper took it and became the “single father” of “Call Her Daddy,” turning the podcast into a global brand.

Cooper went on to sign an exclusive deal with Spotify following her Barstool exit. She has since signed a $125 million deal with SiriusXM.

Franklyn, meanwhile, launched her “Sofia With an F” podcast in October 2020. While Franklyn has discussed her career on her podcast and on social media, her upcoming book will offer a deeper look.

“I think the internet sees me as one way, which I love and is a part of me,” Franklyn said during a June 2025 episode of the “Sofia With an F” podcast. “There’s always going to be the ‘Call Her Daddy,’ Barstool thing, right? Sexual, ditzy, which I mean, I am those things. I can be sexual and ditzy and smart at the same time, you know? But also I think, after the drama, I had this really hard exterior because I was so scared.”

She added, “I’m still kind of trying to crawl out of that, but I think in order to do that, I should be really open about it.”

Daddy Issues is set to be released on November 10.
